On The Road Again!

4/20/2015

It has been a very busy couple weeks out on the road sharing the stories of Restoring Hope Transplant House to several of the regions that regularly send transplant families our way during their transplant journeys.  In just a short span, we have had the great opportunity to speak in Cross Plains, Beloit, Green Bay, Rockford and Wisconsin Rapids in addition to other local opportunities.

It is amazing how many people have been touched in some capacity by transplantation and just how tight-knit the transplant community is.  It was a great honor to be welcomed with open arms at all of these stops and to not only speak on behalf of the house, but the hundreds of families who have called it home.

How special it was for Cindy to return to her hometown of Green Bay one night and also have one of our regular Green Bay transplant guests volunteer to join her to speak and share her transplant story and experiences at Restoring Hope Transplant House.  She did a tremendous job of speaking from the heart and we are so grateful that they were gracious enough with their time and kind words on this wonderful return home.

A two day event in Rockford also saw us meet up with two of our Northern Illinois transplant families (heart and stem cell transplant) and how special it is to hear a presentation about Restoring Hope Transplant House in the words of our own guests, the people who have lived the journey themselves and who benefited the most from having the gift of a home away from home.  What a wonderful gathering in the very heart of a region that sends so many families our way on such a regular basis.

We also just returned yesterday from a fun transplant scavenger hunt fundraiser in Wisconsin Rapids.  It was a tremendous collection of recipients, families and supporters whose smiles and enthusiasm on this day were a wonderful reminder that no matter where the destination, it is the journey that is the greatest reward.  We can’t thank you all enough for making these past two weeks so enjoyable!
