What a great article about a recent fundraiser event held by one of our transplant families in support of RHTH. Please click here to read more. We are so blessed to have so many amazing people pass through our doors!
Every week is like Alumni Week around here at RHTH. Having old friends return for check-ups and hospital visits is one of our greatest joys here at the house. So many amazing stories and people here already this week including a cancer survivor (Left) from Eau Claire who met a transplant caregiver while staying here that worked at her favorite restaurant in Pepin, a 30+ year member of the Pepin Lions Club (Center) who is a lung transplant recipient staying the same night as a Jefferson Lions Club family that recently received a kidney transplant - an exciting night given all that the statewide Lions Clubs do to support RHTH. Mitzi (Right) was the 68th and final link in the largest kidney transplant chain ever assembled and she was here just last night for a check-up along with Shelly who was with us in 2013 for a bone marrow transplant and again this past winter for a very rare multi organ transplant. So many incredible people, all with amazing stories and journeys. Click here to see more of our guests and read their touching stories and comments.
It was great to be involved in the UW's Hope, Meet Gratitude event this week. So many amazing stories, people and lessons to be learned at this gathering. It was also nice to see one of our transplant family guests, Tawny, who was one of the guest speakers. Thank you all for the opportunity.
It was great to see everybody again at the 7th Annual Elaine Graber Memorial Ride for Hope. We are so grateful for everything Elaine's family and friends do to honor her memory and support our visiting transplant families in the process. Such a wonderful group and a great event. Thank you all!
The new RHTH E-newsletter was just sent out. Any non-subscribers can view an online link to it here. We hope to see some of you out at the Elaine Graber Memorial Ride for hope tomorrow morning. Have a good weekend everybody!
We have been incredibly blessed to meet so many amazing transplant families over the years, all with remarkable stories and journeys. We are so fortunate to have been able to spend this past month with William and Jackie and are extremely grateful for both their friendship and for sharing their story. If all goes according to plan, they hope to finally head home to Tennessee tomorrow. While excited for the next chapter of their journey, we will be sad to see them go. Thanks for everything!
What a blessing the Lions, Lioness and Leo Clubs of Wisconsin have been in supporting Restoring Hope Transplant House and our visiting transplant families over the years. These kind words from David mean so much to us all...coming from a Lions Club family who had been a supporter of RHTH since 2013 and now as a recent guest at RHTH while caring for his wife Cheryl who just recently had a successful kidney transplant here in Madison. Best wishes to Cheryl in recovery and thanks again for all these Wisconsin Clubs do when it comes to Restoring Hope to so many.
