Volunteer Help in the Garden this Summer!

5/29/2015

Picture
If there's anyone interested in volunteering to help with the RHTH gardening on a regular basis this summer, please contact Cindy Herbst at 608-831-1726 or via email at restoringhope@tds.net.  From watering to weeding, there is always a need in this area this time of year.  Many thanks!

Thank You to Wisconsin and Illinois State Lions Clubs

5/21/2015

We have been so thankful for our relationship with the Wisconsin State Lions and recently the Illinois State Lions as so many of our guests come from the state of Illinois.  Lions, Lioness and Leos have been incredible supporters of RHTH with monetary donations, supplies, telling our story, and paying for their community guests that stay here when the need arises.  Wisconsin Lions have taken us on as their 3 year project.  We were grateful to be part of the recent Rockford District Lions Convention, the Wisconsin State Lions convention, and the Illinois State Lions Convention.  Thank you all for having us.  Where there is a need there is a LION.

Volunteer Assistance Needed: June 12 & 13 RHTH Garage Sale

5/21/2015

Picture
Restoring Hope Transplant House will once again be hosting a summer garage sale (Friday June 12th and Saturday June 13th) with all funds raised going to support RHTH and our transplant families.  With a busy house and so many house related activities, we could really use your help rounding up more quality items to contribute to our sale as well as some volunteers to help with a wide array of tasks ranging from sorting, pricing, set-up and tear down and multiple goodwill ambassadors to help represent the house and help as cashiers.

June 13th is Downtown Middleton's Beach Party - just steps away from RHTH.  It promises to be a fun afternoon in the neighborhood with a lot of activity so we could really use any available volunteer assistance to make this both a fun weekend and also a very successful one to benefit the house and our visiting families.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated on this one. If you are interested in volunteering or stopping by with donated items to contribute, please contact Cindy Herbst at 608-831-1726, restoringhope@tds.net or stop by the house between 9am-5pm on weekdays with your donated items.  Thank you!

Just a reminder to all that the 6th Annual Elaine Graber Memorial Ride is coming up on Saturday, June 6th.  A great day to celebrate the life of a special woman, a great family, her dear friends and also support Restoring Hope Transplant House and our transplant families.  We hope some of our avid bikers will join us again this year!

Amazing Doug Miller Event in Wisconsin Dells

5/21/2015

What a tremendous honor it was to be involved in the recent Doug Miller Symposium on Organ Donation and Transplantation in Wisconsin Dells.  We have been all over the state sharing the story of Restoring Hope Transplant House and our visiting families and this was one of the most impressive gatherings we have ever attended.  We are so grateful for the outpouring of support for the house and our families - what a great event!

Also extremely proud of our dear friend Chelsey (pictured above) who did a wonderful job speaking in front of a full house.  It seems like just yesterday Chelsey was here at the house celebrating both her 21st birthday and a successful new double lung transplant.  Her story, prior to transplant, was documented in USA Today.  We are so proud of you, Chelsey.
