Happy Thanksgiving E-Newsletter
Restoring Hope Transplant House would like to wish you all a very festive Happy Thanksgiving! This house is our passion and the people that pass through our doors are like family. We laugh when you’re here, struggle when you’re hurting, celebratory in the good moments and moved to tears when we lose people we love. What we all have created here is pretty special...please know how thankful we are for that!❤️
Happy Thanksgiving E-Newsletter We appreciate Michelle's heartfelt interest in the transplant families that pass through our doors here at Restoring Hope Transplant House and are so grateful to the Thomas family for always being such amazing spokespeople for the house as they were for this recent news segment on RHTH!
As we sat around the dinner table this week, it dawned on us that we were sharing dinner with guests from 7 different states. This has truly become a special community of people that have come to call Restoring Hope home from all parts of Wisconsin and now 43 different states as we welcomed our first guest from Oklahoma this week.
There are so many people behind the scenes that pour their hearts and soul into this house simply because of their love for the people that pass through our doors. We are so grateful for Lions Club friends Gwen and Brad from Tomah and Wausau. What a blessing to have the Tomah Lions step up and replace one of our favorite old couches that had fallen victim to years of wear and tear as well as fresh sheets and supplies for the house and Brad for stopping down with an incredible collection of breakfast supplies. As most of you know, we serve a home cooked breakfast each and every morning to our guests. As a non-profit, this comes at a significant expense so we are so incredibly grateful for people like Brad for their generosity and compassion. People like these are the heartbeat of the house. Thank you all for such a great week! Please help join them in supporting Restoring Hope - make a donation today! Donation Days of Thanksgiving: During this festive month of giving thanks, we look back to some of the great moments and incredible friends from 2019. Our pancreas recipient friend Jennifer from Kenosha has gotten her life back after many years of diabetes related struggles. She was kind enough to share her story during her time here at the start of the year.
January featured some guests who have never been better after transplant, some people who overcame some major hurdles and some very dear friends that we lost. They all contributed in their own ways to the incredible community of healing that happens at this house. I can't help but get emotional looking back at all the photos from that chilly month. It was our busiest January ever and we definitely leaned on each other throughout during some very challenging days. Appreciate our transplant and Lions Club friend David Stedman making the trip with us. David stayed at RHTH while his wife Cheryl was having a kidney transplant years ago. What a wonderful, emotional and very powerful gathering as we currently have guests from that area who have become like family!❤️
