The Vision - Help Us Get The Doors Open!
Restoring Hope Transplant House will be a home away from home for patients and their caregivers who are in Madison for organ and bone marrow transplants. With over 75 percent of University of Wisconsin Hospital transplant patients traveling from outside the local area, this non-profit facility will meet the need for comfortable and affordable accommodations. In addition to physical housing, Restoring Hope Transplant House offers hospitality, community, compassion and hope to support the healing journey for patients and families. Support will be provided by a small core staff, many volunteers and through interaction between other families facing the same challenges.
The Transplant House is not yet open to patients or their caregivers. Additional funding is still needed to cover the necessary renovations before the doors can be opened to guests. Upon completion of renovation, Restoring Hope Transplant House will provide 16 bedrooms - each with their own bath, a completely remodeled kitchen, expanded community areas and a HEPA air filtration system that will service the entire House. Building plans and blueprints are currently available online. Click HERE to learn more about ways you can help us get our doors open. Recent Transplant House Photos | Blog News & Updates
