We had an absolute blast at the Capital City 5K Transplant Run/Walk this past weekend...great to see so many Restoring Hope Transplant House friends throughout the day. Amazing moment to walk with one of our RHTH families just 18 months after her liver transplant and to see just how determined she was to finish for so many reasons. Kudos to everyone involved in organizing this tremendous event, the generous sponsors, everyone who cheered us on from start to finish and each and every person who participated. A truly wonderful event in celebration of the people we have come to call our family!
A new RHTH E-Newsletter was just sent out - please take a moment to catch up on some of our fun summer updates! Thanks for all you do to make this house a home!
We would like to thank Dottie Donor Dot for choosing Restoring Hope Transplant House as her home away from home this week. It was so wonderful to catch up and visit with her during her recent stay. While she may be a woman of few words, Dottie is one of our all-time favorite guests and easily one of the most popular amongst our fellow housemates, as you can clearly see. We also appreciate her tireless efforts around the house this week.
Thanks so much for all you do to support the transplant community, Dottie. Your efforts are appreciated by our entire RHTH transplant family of guests which now reaches all parts of Wisconsin, 36 different states and even a handful of other countries.
In honor of Dottie’s visit, we ask that you please take a moment to learn more about organ, tissue and eye donation to determine if registering as a donor is right for you! DonateLifeWisconsin.org

When the cause you serve hits home...a message from Restoring Hope Transplant House Executive Director Cindy Herbst:
Last week we took my husband Brian to the hospital to check on a medical issue that had flared up. All seemed ok and he was initially sent home. Earlier this week, however, we rather shockingly learned that he has an extremely aggressive form of AML (Acute Myeloid Leukemia). He has been hospitalized ever since as we work together with the amazing doctors here to try to figure this all out.
The normal day to day activities at RHTH have continued to go on and will continue to go on and we are so blessed to have such amazing families and dear friends there right now while I do my best to juggle the caregiver role as well as so many of you have when faced with similar situations.
We missed some truly great opportunities this past week to share RHTH and our transplant families with so many of our loyal supporters and we deeply apologize for that and hope that you will understand our absence given the circumstances.
I will be away from RHTH for the most part the next few days and likely unable to answer any phone calls, but we certainly appreciate your outpouring of love and support and I can still be reached by email (firstname.lastname@example.org) if needed. I look forward to seeing you all very soon!
